About

Founded in 1928, the Springfield Art Museum is Springfield Missouri's oldest cultural institution and has been a department of the City of Springfield since 1946. The Springfield Art Museum is committed to fostering creativity, inspiring wonder, and cultivating a deeper understanding of the human experience through meaningful engagement with art. While the main facility undergoes a three-year renovation, exhibitions and programs continue off-site in collaboration with community partners, ensuring that art remains accessible to all.
